Next weekend all core members of ThemePartner (formerly FinishJoomla) will attend (and two members will speak!) the Dutch Joomla!Days 2011 held in the small Dutch town Doorn. Hundreds of Joomla! users, developers and professionals will attend the event, which sold out in the last weekend of the 'early bird' period! The Joomla! minded visitors will share knowledge and experiences, attend presentations, enjoy an excellent lunch (last year set the bar high!), and have the opportunity to network with each other.
New in 2011
This year there'll be a Joomla Performance Run, which is a 30 minute run through the fields and woods surrounding Doorn, and I quote Sander Potjer: 'We will make the #joomla nerds run this year during #jd11nl ;-)'. In several presentations there will also be given away great Joomla! prices such as several packages by JoomlArt and Yireo. In our own presentations we'll be giving away a coupon code that'll give you nice discounts for our own products as well!

CSS Techniques Explained (by Robin Poort, saturday 10:45 - 11:25 in the 'Beukenzaal')
Almost all (Joomla!) sites are styled using CSS these days. Often this will be done using (sometimes very complicated) techniques, while the same problem can also be tackled using clean code. In this presentation, various (unknown) techniques and best practices are discussed. Using CSS as simple and efficient as possible, will produce cleaner code and better performance on different browsers as a result.
SEO Myths Busted (by Theo van der Zee, sunday 10:45 - 11:25 in the 'Beukenzaal')
Nearly every day I hear people talk and read on the (Joomla!) forums about how important people find it to rank high in the search engines. However, the strategy that they follow regarding their SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is mostly based on guesswork, outdated knowledge, advice of "gurus" and accidental results of the past. In this presentation a number of popular myths are discussed and refuted. Armed with this knowledge achieving higher rankings will be made simpler and more focused.
